There are some bold choices in this space that work well together. The mosaic tile backsplash, the striking graphic style countertops combined with the black. Even the white tile backsplash catches the eye with it’s glossy finish and textured look.
Cabinets
Custom shaker style cabinets create this classic yet modern look. The most custom portion of this kitchen is the hidden bread boards that slide out from the island. Our client is a graduate of the Culinary Institute of America and wanted these specifically for bread making.

Flooring
Instead of mimicking the dark wood in the rest of the house, the owners specifically requested that this area have lighter colors. Their original kitchen was very dark and had limited natural light coming through. These grey floors tie into the grey walls throughout the rest of the home.

- This kitchen was originally an awkward L shape with a stove range built into the kitchen island. There was no visual from the kitchen to the dining and living rooms. We shifted the kitchen over by knocking down the corner pantry, and creating a butler pantry and hallway-access closet in the ‘awkward’ space.
